Lockdown means we are missing a lot of social occasions and in general aren’t leaving the house, which in my case means I am probably only wearing 1% of my wardrobe (so grateful for gym-wear).
What I realised fairly early on in this nightmare of a pandemic is that I LOVE clothes and dressing up, and putting make up. I don’t do this for other people, I never have. I do it to feel good about myself – and I have a worrying spending habit that means I have wardrobes full of clothes to wear. I am currently isolating with my family at my parents house and there are 5 of us here, so on the weekends we tend to have at least 1 night where we put on some nice clothes and a bit of makeup (if you fancy it) and just generally change out of our causal wear.
It has definitely made the weekends feel slightly more like the weekends we knew before lockdown. Although we might not be able to go and sit in pubs and bars, or even see our friends (YET), dressing up on the weekends has 100% helped us feel slightly better about the whole thing.
I fully recommend it so, grab your best dress, skirt, shirt or whatever, and put it on – it is Friday after all 😉
